First® vs Trusted Prenup

Both build your prenup online from a guided questionnaire. Couples choose First because it is rated 4.9 on Trustpilot to Trusted Prenup's 3.7, shows you its attorneys before you buy, and includes online notarization in every package.1

Key considerations

  • First is rated 4.9 from 103 reviews on Trustpilot and 5.0 on Google. Trusted Prenup is rated 3.7 from 9 reviews on Trustpilot.
  • Priced with notarization, the two cost the same. First's Self-Serve is $649 per couple with online notarization included where state law permits. Trusted Prenup is $599 plus a $50 notarization add-on.
  • First shows you its attorneys before you pay: 30 public profiles with a bio, law school and bar admission year, and each partner picks their own. Trusted Prenup assigns an attorney from its network after you buy the $699 per person review add-on, where one is available in your state.
  • First is built around the two of you. The guided questions open the conversations that matter, you work through them together on one platform, and support is there at every step, whether or not attorneys are involved.
  • First's Lawyer Review is $3,500 per couple for the whole engagement: an independent family law attorney for each partner, with drafting, consultations and revisions included. Trusted Prenup's attorney review is one hour and one revision at $699 per person on top of the $599 agreement, or $1,900 as a package with notarization, with any further attorney time billed separately.
  • First also has a package built for complex finances: Bespoke, a custom prenup for high-net-worth couples, founders and business owners, and couples with trusts, equity or other sophisticated finances, with every provision drafted for your situation and an independent attorney for each partner.

Why do couples choose First® over Trusted Prenup?

Both build a state-specific prenup through a guided questionnaire you complete together. The difference is what the price includes. First's Self-Serve package is $649 with online notarization included, and Lawyer Review is $3,500 with an independent attorney for each partner, drafting, consultations and revisions in one flat fee.

No add-ons at checkout, no hourly bills, no retainers.

You see your attorneys before you pay

Every attorney in First's network has a public profile with a bio, law school and bar admission year, so you and your partner can read about them before creating an account, and each of you picks your own. Trusted Prenup's attorney review page says you pick from its network after buying the add-on, where coverage is available.

Online notarization included in the price

First's Self-Serve package is $649 per couple with online notarization included where state law permits.1 Trusted Prenup is $599 with online notarization a $50 add-on, so with notarization the two come to the same $649. See First's full pricing.

An independent attorney for each partner, built in

On First's Lawyer Review package, $3,500 per couple covers two independent family law attorneys, one for each of you, with drafting, consultations, revisions and online notarization. You pick yours, your partner picks theirs. Trusted Prenup sells attorney review as an add-on at $699 per person for one hour and one revision, where its network has an attorney available in your state; more time is arranged and paid for with the attorney directly.

Built around the two of you

A prenup you and your partner create together, side by side, on one platform from the first question through signing. Every First package runs the same way, attorney review included, so you always know where things stand and what comes next.

What couples say about First on Trustpilot

"Seeing our answers side by side showed us exactly where we disagreed before the lawyers got involved. We worked out the hard conversations ourselves and came to counsel with a position, which saved real time and money."
Verified customer, Trustpilot, September 15, 2026
"The lawyers we chose felt like they genuinely had our best interests in mind. They were also accessible outside of the platform via email and phone whenever we needed them."
Cherish D., Trustpilot, August 16, 2026
"Moving through the different questions prompted many good discussions about financial management that we had not considered, both post- and during marriage."
Joshua M., Trustpilot, August 5, 2026
My first (and last) prenup was a breeze with First. The platform itself was virtually flawless and we were impressed with our lawyers. My lawyer, Lars, was a superstar!

The self-service option allowed us to go through an expedited prenup process and have the meaningful discussions we wanted to about our marriage, just in time for the wedding itself. The process was easy (as easy as legalese can be!), quick, and affordable.

Who is each right for?

Both build your prenup online from a guided questionnaire. The fit comes down to the experience you want and how much attorney time you need.

First is a fit if

  • You want to build your prenup together, on one platform designed for couples, where the guided questions open the money conversations most couples never get to.
  • You want a prenup from a team that is in it for your marriage. First was founded to help couples start married life on the same page; Trusted Prenup's agreement is designed and branded by a divorce attorney.
  • You want to read about your attorneys before you pay, and each choose your own.
  • You have complex finances, such as significant wealth, a business or founder equity, or trusts, and want a custom prenup with every provision drafted for your situation, which is what First's Bespoke package is built for.
  • You want everything in one flat price: online notarization in every package, and on Lawyer Review, an independent attorney for each partner with consultations and revisions included and no hourly bills.
  • You live in one of the 46 states or DC where First offers Self-Serve, or one of the 11 states where it offers Lawyer Review.

Trusted Prenup is a fit if

  • You want the lowest sticker price and do not plan to notarize, or are happy to add $50 to do so.
  • You expect one hour with an attorney and one revision to be enough, and are comfortable arranging and paying for any further attorney time yourself.
  • You live in Louisiana, Minnesota, North Carolina or West Virginia, where First does not offer Self-Serve; Trusted Prenup says it covers all 50 states.

First vs Trusted Prenup: Pricing, Attorney Review & Coverage FAQ

Is Trusted Prenup legit?

Trusted Prenup is an online prenup platform whose agreement, per its site, was designed by its co-founder James Sexton, Esq., a New York divorce and family law attorney. Its site states that it is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, sells a state-specific agreement for $599 per couple, and offers a 7-day refund window. Its Trustpilot profile is claimed and, as of October 7, 2026, shows a rating of 3.7 from 9 reviews.

As with any online prenup, what matters is whether the finished agreement meets your state's requirements: in writing, signed voluntarily with time to review, with full financial disclosure, and in some states with independent counsel for each partner. Our guide to what makes an online prenup service worth choosing sets out the criteria.

How much does Trusted Prenup cost?

Trusted Prenup charges $599 per couple for the agreement. Online notarization is $50 more and attorney review is $699 per person, so one notarized agreement with one attorney review comes to about $1,350, and its full package with a review for each partner plus notarization is $1,900, all as published on its pricing page.

First is $649 for Self-Serve with online notarization included where state law permits, and $3,500 for Lawyer Review with an independent attorney for each partner. Compare First's packages.

Does Trusted Prenup include a lawyer?

Not in the $599 price. Attorney review is an optional add-on at $699 per person: a 60-minute call with an attorney licensed in your state, one revision, and a signed Attorney Review Certificate, offered where its network has an attorney available in your state; further revisions or attorney time are arranged and paid for with the attorney directly. One attorney can advise only one partner, so a review for both is $1,398, or $1,900 as a package with notarization.

First's Lawyer Review package includes an independent attorney for each partner, with drafting, consultations, revisions and online notarization, in one $3,500 fee per couple.

What is the difference between First and Trusted Prenup?

Both are online, state-specific prenups built through a guided questionnaire that both partners complete. The differences are what the price includes and how attorneys are involved. First includes online notarization in its $649 Self-Serve price and, on Lawyer Review, includes an independent attorney for each partner for $3,500 per couple; you pick yours and your partner picks theirs. Trusted Prenup is $599 with notarization at $50 and attorney review as a 60-minute call at $699 per person.

First offers Self-Serve in 46 states and DC and Lawyer Review in 11 states; Trusted Prenup says it covers all 50 states.

Is First or Trusted Prenup cheaper?

On the sticker, Trusted Prenup at $599. With online notarization, both are $649. With an attorney for each partner, Trusted Prenup's $1,900 package is less than First's $3,500 Lawyer Review, and the two buy different things: a 60-minute review call for each partner at Trusted Prenup, versus independent representation for each partner at First with drafting, consultations and revisions included.

Either is well below the $3,000 to $10,000 or more per couple a traditional two-attorney prenup typically runs.

Is First a good Trusted Prenup alternative?

Yes, for couples who want online notarization included and an independent attorney for each partner built into one flat price. First tailors every agreement to your state, has both partners work through it together, and is rated 4.9 from 103 reviews on Trustpilot and 5.0 on Google.
